Primary care to women during pregnancy, labour and birth, including conducting normal vaginal deliveries and assisting mothers and babies during the first six weeks postpartum
Principles:
- continuity of care with a small group of midwives
- informed choice for decision-making
- choice of birthplace (including home, hospital)
Hospital privileges are held at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie. Midwives are regulated by the College of Midwives of Ontario.
